Life In Darkness (Mark 10:46-52) | Rev. Herman Moldez, Nov 30, 2025
Description
Here Comes The Light (Sermon Series)
Light is a major theme in the Bible. It is a fitting metaphor to reveal who Christ is, “the light of
the world” (John 8:12 ), the One who reveals salvation, hope, and way of life. Light is the essence
of who God is (John 15), the Father of lights in utmost purity, wisdom, and truth (John 1:17 ).
Because of sin, the people of the world walk with darkness. They are blinded and desperate,
hopeless and helpless. They are longing for the light that will guide them to a new life and a
new path to the hopeless future with courage and confidence
As we remember the season of Advent, we will reflect on God’s light dawning in Christ, to
guide people walking in darkness to see the truth and path to life. HERE COMES THE LIGHT
is the theme of series of messages to awaken our longing for the light, dawning in Christ’s first
coming to transform our lives as a witness to the world in darkness.
Life In Darkness (Mark 10:46-52) | Rev. Herman Moldez, Nov 30, 2025
The story of Bartimaeus, a blind beggar, is a human story living darkness. He
longed to see to have a full life. May his story awaken our longing to see by inviting Christ
where we grope in the dark of the unknown and uncertainty and seek guidance to live as
followers of Jesus in the world full of darkness. We still need healing in to expose the darkness
of our hearts to focus on following Jesus Christ
The challenge of the spiritual life is how to see clearly. Many of those who followed Jesus were seeing but did not see who Jesus really was. Bartimaeus, although blind, saw Jesus as the Son of David, the Long-awaited Messiah. We need to face our own blindness so that we can follow Jesus from darkness to light.
1. Living in the dark
2. Light to see clearly
3. Live to follow Jesus Christ
Where do you grope in darkness to let Jesus heal you in blindness?
